McDonalds finally announce trial extension to their breakfast hours

There are few things worse than waking up with a hangover and realising it's 10:27am and there's no chance of making it to McDonald's before they stop serving breakfast.

But, finally, after years of pleading and begging, McDonald have decided to extend their breakfast hours, the Mirror reports .

Seven McDonald's restaurants - starting from today (12th June) - will be trialling longer breakfast services until 11am as part of a six-week trial to determine if the nation really does want their adored McMuffins after 10:30am.

The seven restaurants involved are all in the Portsmouth and Isle of Wight area but the fast food chain will roll out the later end times if the trial is successful, a big change in policy considering the current 10:30am cut-off point has been in place for nearly 25 years.

While voting on extending deals and things starting with the letters B-R-E has been controversial in the UK in recent years, we've created a poll below to help convince the famous burger chain to bring the later breakfasts to the rest of its UK and Ireland stores.

As big advocates of an 11am sausage and egg McMuffin, we're fully in favour of giving customers 30 extra McMuffin minutes - but Big Mac fans may not be so keen, as it means they'll need to wait until a weary 11am to get their hands on the brand's statement burger.

How to order from the secret McDonald's menu

Order yours on Uber Eats? While McDelivery customers currently have a 10:15am cut-off for breakfast orders, the extra 30 minutes means that orders can be placed through Uber Eats until a game-changing 10:45am in the test restaurants.

We've got the full list of restaurants below.

  • Commercial Road, Portsmouth
  • Isle of Wight
  • Cosham, Portsmouth
  • IoW – Brading Road
  • Ocean Retail Park, Portsmouth
  • Fratton Park, Portsmouth
  • North Harbour, Portsmouth
