McDonalds brings back six menu favourites this week including apple pies

McDonald's is bringing back six much-missed menu items on Thursday, including apple pies and the chicken legend.

After a short test earlier this month, the burger chain said it was now confident it could bring the fan favourites back while still letting staff to work safely.

That means customers will soon be able to order double quarter pounders with cheese, chicken legends - in all three flavours - apple pies, toffee lattes, millionaire’s donuts and carrot sticks again.

"The Apple Pie and Chicken Legend range have been among the most frequently requested ‘missing items’ from the menu," McDonald's said in a statement.

"Whilst the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, which proved incredibly popular in August 2019, returns for the long-haul and benefits from the Government’s VAT reduction, available now for £4.29."

McDonald's pointed out prices can vary, but in most restaurants the returning items will cost:

  • Chicken Legend - £3.79 or £5.09 for a meal
  • Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese - £4.29 or £5.59 for a meal
  • Carrot Sticks - £0.79
  • Hot Apple Pie - £0.99
  • Regular Toffee Latte - £1.69
  • Millionaire’s Donut  -£1.39

That's cheaper than before, thanks to McDonald's decision to pass on the Government's VAT cut to customers.

The better news is that, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday's this month all of these will be half price for people eating in.

"With thanks the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out Scheme, choosing to sit down and have a coffee break in over 1200 restaurants will see customers enjoy a McCafé black coffee and a donut for less than £1.30," McDonald's said.

To qualify for the 50% off you need to eat in the restaurant and order on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday in August.
