New McDonald's and Starbucks restaurants are coming to West Lothian.
After months of speculation, The Courier can confirm that the American chains will be opening at Whitburn Heartlands.
It was revealed earlier this year that planning permission had been granted for the premises and now both are urgently hiring staff for the new stores.
McDonald's are recruiting for crew members and say successful applicants will receive training in either Bathgate or Livingston instore, before moving over to Whitburn for the opening date.
It is believed that the McDonald's will be a drive-thru facility.
The British retailer, EG Group, are developing the site in Heartlands and will be operating the Starbucks franchise.
They placed the job adverts online urgently seeking staff for the new store, with positions available for a shift supervisor and barista.
The job advert promises a great environment for coffee lovers.
It reads: “Our Starbucks stores have become a beacon for coffee lovers everywhere and our Starbucks Teams are the reason our customers can count on a genuine service, an inviting atmosphere and a superb cup of expertly roasted and richly brewed coffee every time.
“Every day you can work towards achieving two things: sharing great coffee with our friends and help make communities a little better…get to know us and you’ll see, we are so much more than what we brew!”
The Courier revealed that West Lothian Council had granted permission for a new retail park at the Heartlands in May.
The plans showed four huge units, with Tesco and Aldi earmarked to open two of the stores.
