On Aug. 12, McDonald’s launched a limited-edition meal deal that’s essentially a Happy Meal for adults. The McDonaldland Meal comes with a new Mt. McDonaldland Shake, fries, a collectible souvenir and your choice of a Quarter Pounder with cheese or 10-piece Chicken McNuggets.

The meals are a play to nostalgia, featuring classic McDonald’s characters like Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese and the Fry Friends.
“Over the past few years, we’ve seen how fans flock to our characters — everyone from Grimace to the Hamburglar,” Jennifer “JJ” Healan, vice president of U.S. marketing, brand, content and culture at McDonald’s, said in a press release. “And so, for the first time in decades, we are taking fans on a trip to McDonaldland with an immersive experience that taps into the past to create the future.”
While McDonald’s fans may be excited to see beloved characters again, many are not so excited about the prices being charged for these meals. A recent Reddit thread revealed the exorbitant prices of a McDonaldland meal in certain states — see if your state is on the list of the worst offenders, where prices are over $18.
