McDonald's worker steps in to help 'shaken' woman in Cheshire Oaks car park

A woman was left feeling 'shaken' after yobs started throwing things at cars close to a busy shopping centre.

One teenager was arrested and another was issued with a dispersal order last night, Cheshire Police confirmed.

Witnesses took to social media to complain about youths attacking cars near Cheshire Oaks in Ellesmere Port yesterday evening.

Posting in a local Facebook group, one woman said she was left "shaken up" after her car was targeted.

Sharing pictures of damage to her car, including a cracked back windscreen, the woman said the vehicle had been targeted by "a group of young teens throwing things at all passing cars" as she was driving through Cheshire Oaks.

The woman added in a comment that staff at a nearby McDonald's came to her aid after the incident.

She said: "This happened outside Ralph Lauren going towards McDonald's and I have to praise the McDonald's staff.

"One of the girls working in there came over and told us she'd called the police and to go and park in the car park to wait as there was already someone with damage to their car.

"I was really shaken up and upset and she brought me a coffee and a bottle of water so I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff in there who supported me this evening. I didn't catch any of their names but there was a male assistant manager who came over too."

Her post prompted dozens of comments from people who had seen "kids causing mayhem".

One person said: "Happened to a few cars today!"

Another said: "My car got hit four times by the kids. Shocking behaviour."

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 8.20pm on Sunday 12 September police were called to reports of an incident near to the Sainsbury’s car park on Kinsey Road.

"The caller reported that a group of unknown youths had throwing stones at cars.

"Three vehicles are believed to have been damaged as a result of the incident.

"Officers attended the scene and arrested a 15-year-old boy from Flintshire on suspicion of criminal damage; he has since been released under investigation pending further enquires.

"A second boy, age 14, was issued with a dispersal order and made to leave the area."
