McDonald's worker pays diner's bill - and she's been secretly doing it for months

A sweet McDonald's worker, whose random act of kindness left a customer speechless, has been praised.

Over the last few months first-year student Enya Vegnere, 19, has spent over £50 of her own £7.25-per-hour wages on customers' meals - paying for a coffee here or burger there to people who she feels will appreciate it.

So when Enya from Coventry, West Midlands, overheard 25-year-old Joshua Henry calling his mum to ask if she wanted anything from the restaurant, it was just what she needed to pass on the good deed.

She told The Sun : "I thought it was cute that he called his mum - not everyone is that considerate of their parents.

“I thought why not reward his thoughtfulness - it was only £4, a hot chocolate and a couple of burgers."

Enya overheard Joshua calling his mum to ask if she wanted anything (Joshua Henry)

Joshua, who is at high risk of redundancy later got in touch to say thank you and said Enya's kindness 'proper cheered him up.'

Enya continued: "Some people do kind things with the expectation that they will get something back in return but that’s not the right way to do it."

In a video he shared online, Joshua can be heard asking Enya: "So you're gonna pay for my meal?"

The deed made Joshua's week (Joshua Henry)

She replied: "Yeah because you called your mum and asked if she wants anything from McDonald's," before she revealed it was her kind act of the day.

Enya is then seen putting her bank card into the card holder, before she hides her face when she discovers he's filming her.

Joshua said: "I need to pay that forward tomorrow, thank you very much. What's your name?"

"Enya" she replied.

She said: "You never know what someone is going through and what a kind gesture could do."

In the description of his video he wrote: "So I went to McDonald's Coventry Tile Hill and whilst I was about to make my order, I rang my mum and asked her if she wanted anything.

"Proper cheered me up after having a depressing day with the fact I’m at high risk of redundancy.

"I then placed my order and then got around the window to pay and this girl said she is going to pay for my order as her kind act of the day because I rang my mum and it was thoughtful."

Enya lost count of how many times she has paid for customers' meals after going by the motto 'takers eat better but givers sleep better.'
