As a nation, the UK has been saying a lot of ‘thankyous’ to key workers and NHS staff over lockdown. However, there is one group that’s not been thanked enough for everything they’ve done over the past six months – parents.
So, McDonald’s is helping to say thank you by encouraging families to share a Chicken McNugget with their parents in heart-warming gestures of thankyous for everything they’ve done during lockdown.
Musician and Model, Myleene Klass is one parent who’s received an unexpected (Mc)Nugget from her daughter, Hero, whilst visiting a McDonald’s Drive-Thru. Hero Klass leads an ensemble of kids from around the country who are thanking their parents for all they’ve done for them during recent months.
Given that a little means a lot, McDonald’s want to pass on this baton of thanks by encouraging more parents to get involved, posting why they feel deserving of a McNugget too.

Myleene said: “Lockdown has been hard on everyone, especially families having to juggle home-schooling, work and parenting all at the same time. I think it is important we all take a minute to acknowledge one another, say thank you and appreciate how well we’ve all done.
"It was such a special moment when Hero said thanks to me and it is great to see McDonald’s hero-ing these moments between parents and kids. Bringing families together during these tough times which look likely to get tougher, is incredibly important.”
