McDonald's to open 700 restaurants for eating in - but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to find out which ones

Fast food giant McDonalds will be reopening 700 restaurants for eating in across the UK tomorrow (Wednesday, July 22) - however fans will have to wait to find out whether there's any in Notts.

The burger chain hasn't revealed the locations so burger lovers will have to check using the online restaurant locator tomorrow.

Those welcoming diners back will have two major changes.

Instead of queuing up to be served, it will be table service only, while customers will be asked to give their contact details for track and trace.

McDonald's has gradually reintroduced drive-thru and McDelivery since lockdown restrictions were eased. The latest move follows r a successful dining in trial at four restaurants.

It will enable sites to take part in the Chancellor's 'Eat Out to Help Out' scheme next month.

Social distancing measures will be in place and, to prevent congestion, restaurants will carefully manage the number of customers inside.

When arriving, customers will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided and follow the safety measures laid out in restaurants to help keep diners and staff safe.

Food will be delivered to the table after placing orders via the My McDonald’s app, at the till or kiosk.

In line with Government guidance, McDonald’s will be asking customers that choose to eat-in to leave their contact details by using their smart phone to either scan a QR code taking them to a dedicated webpage or visiting that webpage directly with the URL details provided on each table.

Customers will be asked to leave the name of the lead member and the number of people within their group, a phone number, the date and time of visit and the restaurant number (identified on each table sticker).

Safety measures in place include floor-markings and signposting inside and outside restaurants to help enable social distancing and touchpoints such as self-order screens, card readers and doors will be sanitised at least every 30 minutes

Perspex screens have been installed in the kitchens, service areas and drive-thru windows and customers are encouraged to use contactless payment where possible.
