McDonald's switches to old logo as it rolls back menu prices to 1996

McDonald's has confused fans after switching its logo to an older version.

The fast-food chain made the change on its social media platforms and asked followers if they had "spotted anything different".

Many pointed out that the restaurant had been given a "retro" overhaul with the style dating back to 1996.

"I am living for the logo!!! Love it," wrote one fan.

"What this old thing? Just remembered we had it and thought we'd see if it still fits," McDonald's responded.

The fast-food franchise then went onto explain that they were "taking it right back to 1996 for a McMuffin and the Big Mac" with prices to match.

On Friday, June 18, customers will be able to pick up a McMuffin for 99p, saving £1, and a Big Mac for £1.79, £1.70 less than usual.

McDonald's has rolled back the prices of two menu classics to what they were 25 years ago to mark the Euro 2020 game between England and Scotland.

It comes as the teams face each other for the first time in an international football tournament since 1996.

The day's amazing offers are available exclusively on the My McDonald's App, while the McDonald's logo, tagline, and posts throughout the day will be nothing but 90s.
