McDonald's show right way to eat ketchup and fries - and we've all been doing it wrong

McDonald's French fries are a staple addition to every meal.

Being one of the most popular items on the menu, alongside burgers and chicken nuggets you'd think we'd know how to eat them, but apparently we've been doing it all wrong.

We've all heard that the dipping pot can double in size to allow room for more dip, but we had no idea that the fry box has an in-built dip holder.

The hack was shared by the "Today Years old" account on Twitter, a page that regularly reveals the most commonly unknown public discoveries - and it's guaranteed to change the game for dip lovers.

It's a game-changer (PA)

Apparently, there is a designated flap on the back of the fry container where you can put your dip of choice.

The hack has since received 1,300 likes and 130 comments from stunned foodies.

The page wrote: "Did y’all know the flap on your fries box actually has a purpose?"

One said: "I am shook."

Another wrote: "Learn something new everyday."

And a third said: "I can't believe nobody knew this... I was like 10 when I figured this out. Where y'all been?"

But a couple of people were skeptical.

One said: "To accidentally catapult ketchup all over your nice clean shirt?"

And another pointed out that the flap looked as if it should be a lid as there are slits in the cardboard to keep it together.

We're intrigued... Next time you find yourself ordering McDonald's, try it for yourself.

This comes after a former McDonald's worker revealed a trick to ensure your food is made to order.

TikTok user Dessy Joseph explained that you should customise your order as it means it will have to be made from scratch.

For example, asking for extra gherkins or an extra slice of cheese in your burger
