When McDonald's closed for lockdown, it's no exaggeration to say that people were devestated.
Fans of the fast food chain have been missing their nugget fix, and have been begging to find out when restaurants will reopen.
Last week, people got their hopes up after it was reported by the Irish Farmers Journal that restaurants could reopen in May.
However, with no concrete evidence that it was true, foodies flocked to McDonald's social media channels to ask if it was the case.
Now McDonald's has responded, and it's not the news we were hoping for.
Posting on Facebook, McDonald's wrote: "Well, our notifications are going wild tonight – we miss you too. We promise we will update you here as soon as we have confirmed our plans. Stay safe, stay at home and we will see you soon."
The post was quickly flooded with comments, and many fans of the chain thanked McDonald's for putting safety first.
"Missing maccies breakfast, but safety of staff comes first. Hope you’re all staying safe at home," said one fan of the burger chain.
Another added: "I've started having dreams about your food, I miss you, my colleagues miss you. Hurry back, I'm sick of eating kebabs. Btw I do cook at home too, but I do like a maccy D's."
"The day you reopen will be a day of celebration. My son is autistic and he doesn’t eat a lot of food but he loves McDonald’s chips sometimes we just look crazy getting 3 large fries but he will be so happy when you reopen," said somebody else.
A fourth McDonald's lover wrote: "This pregnant lady is CRAVING a Big Mac!! Cant wait till you reopen! Hope everyones staying safe!!"
