It's the news every junk-loving vegan has longed for - fast food giant McDonald's is set to launch its first vegan meal.
Veggie Dippers - despite the name they are 100 per cent vegan-friendly - are made with red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas, covered in breadcrumbs.
And good news for anyone whose New Year's resolution is to go vegan - they will be on sale in restaurants across Notts from Thursday January 2.
A Veggie Dipper meal, with fries and a drink, will cost £4.99. They'll also be available as Maccy's first vegan Happy Meal.
veganThomas O'Neill, head of Food Marketing at McDonald's UK and Ireland, said: "In the last 12 months we've seen an 80 per cent uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald's, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers.
"The Veggie Dippers are a delicious addition to our menu, and we're looking forward to seeing what customers make of our first vegan Extra Value Meal and Happy Meal in the New Year."
