McDonald's removes seven items from its menu but adding new treats

Part of McDonald's success in growing from a single fast-food restaurant to the global corporation it is today is sticking to some fan favourites that have stood the test of time.

However, while Big Macs and Quarter Pounders as well as coke and fries are likely always to stay on the menu the franchise keeps its foodstuffs for sale fresh with numerous changes throughout the year,

It has recently announced that seven items will soon be axed to make way for new items.

Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese (McDonald's)

As well as its Signature range of burgers, the double quarter pounder with cheese as well as Mars McFlurry are going.

A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "Given the popularity of these iconic burgers and as we continually review and refresh our core menu, we have decided to remove the Signature Collection.

"We are sorry to disappoint fans of the range... which might return in the future as part of a limited time food promotion."

The double quarter pounder with cheese, McFlurries and spicy nuggets are all limited edition items which are being removed as well as the burgers.

But the restaurant chain said McDonald's is also making new additions to the menu on September 25.

One of these is the Indian Chicken Burger - which is made with two pieces of garlic naan bread instead of a bun.

The burger is accompanied by the French Stack with garlic mayo, the Swiss Stack with emmental cheese sauce, the Jamaican Chicken with spicy jerk sauce and the Italian Stack with pesto style mayo.

Also being added to the menu is a Salted Caramel McFlurry and a sharebox full of cheese and herb melts.

Several of the new additions will hit McDonald's restaurants tomorrow, and will be available to buy in-store and on the McDonald's app.
