McDonald's promotes new game with Da Coach as ... Da Packer?!

Oct. 27--Da Coach is now ... Da Packer? Say it ain't so.

McDonald's is promoting its new Game Time Gold sweepstakes with a video that may cause Bears fans to do a double take: Mike Ditka putting on a (gasp!) Green Bay Packers sweater.

The game doesn't start in McDonald's stores until Nov. 3, but McDonald's released the teaser videos Tuesday. The videos suggest (with a wink, of course) the game will lead some fans' loyalties to be swayed.

Game pieces, featuring 1 of 32 NFL team helmets and a 10-digit code, will be attached to some McDonald's menu items including large fries, Big Macs, 10- and 20- piece Chicken McNuggets, and medium fountain drinks. Customers can also text to play for the first time.

The promotion runs until Dec. 21. Prizes include $500,000 in cash and a four-night trip for two to Super Bowl 50. Winners of the cash will be announced on NBC's Sunday Night Football pre-game show and the code for a potential winner of the Super Bowl trip will be announced on the post-game show.

Another video shows legendary former San Francisco 49er Jerry Rice watering his lawn around a landscaped Dallas Cowboys star.

The sneak-peek videos are now on YouTube. The full versions were to run as commercials during "NCIS" Tuesday night on CBS.

McDonald's has been the official restaurant sponsor of the NFL since 2012.
