McDonald's plan to reopen all drive-thru restaurants by early June

McDonald's are planning to reopean all of their drive-thru restaurants by early June, the fast-food chain has confirmed.

The franchise announced 15 venues will open tomorrow (May 13) for delivery-only, on a trial basis, in the south-east of England.

Seven days later (May 20), McDonald's will plan to reopen a further 30 drive-thrus 'across the UK and Ireland'.

It is then hoped all 'drive-thru only' restaurants will be opened at the start of the following month.

McDonald's have not at this stage revealed which, if any, of their venues in and around Glasgow could open next week.

A reduced menu will be served during reduced hours (11am - 10pm), while there will be maximum spend limit of £25 per customer, when the restaurants reopen.

McDonald's Tweeted: "We aim to open all Drive Thrus by early June as we learn from our employees, franchisees, suppliers and customers and adjust to the new procedures in place to help keep our restaurant teams safe."
