The wait is finally over! McDonald's has opened its new restaurant in Stanley.
Customers were able to enjoy their first Big Macs and McNuggets from the County Durham restaurant on Wednesday.
As well as creating 60 jobs for the area, the 24-hour restaurant and drive-thru On Clifford Road has all of the fast food chain's latests innovations.
Digital features include self-order kiosks, table service and the 'click and collect' service via the My McDonald's app.
McDonald's franchisee Nigel Mushens, who owns and operates the outlet, said: "I’m thrilled to open this brand-new restaurant in Stanley today and see our first customers through the doors.
"We’ve created 60 new jobs in the area and I’m proud to have built a brilliant team of local people and offer them great training and development opportunities.
"It’s exciting to now be part of the Stanley community and I’m looking forward to welcoming and getting to know our customers in this busy part of town."
The restaurant has been built on the site of an empty building off Ritson Street, which was demolished to make way for the two-storey restaurant.
Contractors moved onto the site and started work in September last year.
It is the latest business to open in the town, with Aldi and Home Bargains both opening last year.
