McDonald’s new burger shows significant price differences across US

  • McDonald's recently launched the Big Arch burger in the U.S. as a limited-time menu item, featuring two quarter-pound beef patties and various toppings, making it the chain's largest burger.
  • The Big Arch burger contains 1,020 calories and 53 grams of protein, with a full meal including fries and a drink totaling 1,610 calories.
  • A survey highlighted significant price variations for the burger across the country, ranging from $7.46 in Columbia, South Carolina, to $12.99 in Lewiston, Maine, representing a nearly 74 percent difference.
  • State-level averages also show disparities, with Alaska being the most expensive at approximately $10.32 and Oklahoma the least expensive at $8.05, due to regional factors and franchise pricing flexibility.
  • The burger, which was first tested internationally, officially launched in the U.S. on March 3 and gained widespread attention after McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski posted a viral video of himself attempting to eat it.
