McDonald's Monopoly 2020 - all you need to know including when it starts

McDonald's is on the verge of relaunching its popular Monopoly game for fans all over the UK.

The prize-based game offers diners the chance to pick up shopping vouchers, free meals and even four £100,000 cash prizes when they order items from its iconic menu.

The restaurant chain has now revealed it'll start on March 25 - with a new set of prizes yet to be announced.

But what else do we know about the 2020 game and how can you get involved?

Ahead of its start date, we've run through all you need to know below.

What prizes will be up for grabs?

McDonald's is yet to reveal a full prize list for 2020, but below are some of last year's incentives.

It can include anything from an apple pie to Boohoo vouchers or even a holiday.

  • £100,000 cash (four – collect both dark blue properties)

  • Mini Cooper (20– collect all three green properties)

  • £2,000 holiday spending money (50 – collect all three yellow properties)

  • PS4 games console (650 – collect all three red properties)

  • Any mobile phone with a one-year contract (400 – collect all four train stations)

  • A £50 voucher for  boohoo.com (18,000 – collect all three light blue properties)

  • Medium McDonald's meal (2,000,000 – collect both brown properties)

How to play McDonald's Monopoly

The game is a variation of the classic Monopoly boardgame - you basically have to collect the pieces to claim the prize.

Each piece represents a tile on the board and when you collect a set, you get a freebie.

Some pieces are harder to get than others, as fewer will be made - these usually make up the bigger prizes like cars and holidays.

However, unfortunately, you won't get a Monopoly piece with every McDonald's item you purchase.

Those who do get tokens will find they are complexly random - aim for the rarest tiles for the best prizes.

For example, last year just four dark blue Mayfair squares were made.

If you did find one though, as well as its matching Park Lane token, then you bagged a £100,000 cash prize.
