McDonald's announce it will extend breakfast hours until 11am in pivotal trial

Waking up with a hangover is never fun, but things are made even worse when you realise it's 10.27am and you've got no chance of making it to McDonald's for a McMuffin before they stop serving breakfast.

But after years of begging, McDonald's has decided to finally extend their breakfast hours.

Starting from today (12th June), seven McDonald’s restaurants will be trialling extending breakfast service to 11am, in a six-week test to see whether the nation really wants their beloved McMuffins after 10.30am.

All seven restaurants trialling the new timings will be in Portsmouth and the Isle of Wight, but if successful, the iconic fast food chain will then roll out the later end times nationwide - a big change considering the current 10.30am end point has been in place for nearly 25 years.

While voting on extending deals and things starting with the letters B-R-E has been controversial in the UK in recent years, we've created a poll below to help convince the famous burger chain to bring the later breakfasts to the rest of its UK and Ireland stores.

As big advocates of an 11am sausage and egg McMuffin, we're fully in favour of giving customers 30 extra McMuffin minutes - but Big Mac fans may not be so keen, as it means they'll need to wait until a weary 11am to get their hands on the brand's statement burger.

Order yours on Uber Eats? While McDelivery customers currently have a 10:15am cut-off for breakfast orders, the extra 30 minutes means that orders can be placed through Uber Eats until a game-changing 10:45am in the test restaurants.

We've got the full list of restaurants below.

  • Isle of Wight
  • Cosham, Portsmouth
