McDonald's menu is getting an even bigger burger

Fast food giant McDonald's is known for its range of burgers, nuggets and breakfast treats.

There are beef, chicken, fish and veggie dishes to choose from, and everyone has their favourite go-to menu item.

At the minute, the biggest item on the menu is a double quarter pounder with cheese - which contains a whopping 750 calories, and costs £4.59 on its own.

However, an even bigger burger is about to drop, and this one's got an impressive three patties.

From next week, fans of the fast food chain will be able to order a triple cheeseburger from the saver menu.

According to the Mirror, McDonald’s customers in Yorkshire were among the first to get their lips around the new offering when it was trialed across 60 restaurants in February.

People immediately took to social media to declare their love for the new menu option.

One fan described it as the "best burger ever," another simply added "game changer", while a third commented: "I am ordering three, in advance, sorry to the guy on the grill."

"Following a successful trial period earlier this year, the Triple Cheeseburger will now officially join the Saver Menu as a permanent addition from Wednesday 2 September," the chain said in a statement.

The burger will be priced from just £2.19 - if you think you can handle that much meat.
