SEATTLE _ A McDonald's fast-food restaurant manager in Washington state stabbed someone with a pocket knife during a fight Saturday after a group of at least five people refused his demand to leave, according to police.
The dispute, around 2:30 p.m., started as shouting but turned physical, said Des Moines Police Cmdr. Doug Jenkins.
"He was basically attacked by the group. They punched him, they kicked him, they dragged him down," Jenkins said of the manager. "In the melee, he stabbed somebody in the chest."
Customers and other employees stayed out of it, Jenkins said.
Police arrived moments later, while people involved were still around, Jenkins said. The wounded man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, and the manager was sore and bruised, the commander said.
The McDonald's is located in a busy strip of shops and parking lots.
There were no immediate arrests while police investigate further, Jenkins said. Witnesses are cooperating and officers expect to find video footage, he said
