McDonald's makes historic change to menu by launching £185 wedding package

McDonald's will now be offering newlyweds the chance to chow down on nuggets and burgers on their big day - all for less than £200.

The fast food chain has started with the wedding package in Jakarta, Indonesia - where guests get the choice of 100 chicken burgers and 100 McNugget boxes, or the same amount of cheeseburgers and chicken fingers.

Newlyweds have to order at least 200 items to qualify for the £200 grub deal.

The restaurant has introduced the offer with the slogan: "Make wedding moments unforgettable."

If successful, there is talk of the deal becoming available in other cities and countries and not just Jakarta.

McDonald's Indonesia spokesperson Rizki Haryadi explained: "There are other service options as well, where we can also provide food stalls at an additional cost.

"The wedding package is not for holding a wedding at a McD store , but only for food, such as catering with prices starting from £185 with a minimum purchase of 200 products."

One punter quipped: "Do we get the clown too".

Another chimed in: "YEESSSSSSSS…got the wedding package. Now for the candidate."

In Hong Kong, couples can go one step further and even get hitched in the restaurant.

The big day - dubbed the "Happiness Party" - comes with invites, balloons and a massve apple pie cake for £300.

With that, the couple gets to hire the venue for two hours, audio equipment, food costing £100 and some decorations, reports The Sun.

In the UK, the average wedding can easily hit an eye-watering £30,000, according to last year's average.

Last month, it emerged that one McDonald's superfan had visted many of the chain's restaurants around the world - despite not being a fan of beef.

Natasha Whitley, 27, has visited 45 countries in six months, stopping at 15 different restaurants in places including Australia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Nicaragua and New Zealand.

The hospital pharmacist turned travel content creator has taken an eight month sabbatical from her job for the trip.

And despite not liking beef, she has made sure to visit her favourite chain while abroad for her go-to meal - chicken McNuggets with a Coke Zero.

Natasha, from London, said: “I knew when I started this round the world trip that I wanted to visit all the different McDonald's.

“I love checking out the different menus all over the world and seeing what cool and exciting items they offer.

“Ever since I was young, it was always a special treat as a kid to go to McDonald's and get a Happy Meal. Then, as I got older, my love for chicken nuggets grew - it became a known thing between me and my friends.

"McDonald's is definitely my go to meal every time I'm drunk after a night out or hungover the next day - it's my favourite comfort food.
