McDonald's is making big changes to its Happy Meals and parents are going to like it

McDonald's likes to change up its menu every few weeks to keep customers enticed.

And ahead of World Book Day, the fast food change is switching up its Happy Meals.

Little ones will get a book token with their mini-sized meal.

So for the price of £2.99, you'll get a toy, drink, side and main, you'll also be able to pick up a free book.

Kids can change the token for one of 12 World Book Day books, or they can use it to get £1 off another book instead at various location across the UK - including supermarkets.

The Case of the Drowned Pearl, Split, The Kissing Booth, Evie in the Jungle and The Day We Met the Queen are just some of the choices in the World Book Day options.

World Book Day chief executive Cassie Chadderton   said: “We are thrilled to announce that World Book Day is working with McDonald’s to encourage even more families to share stories together."

McDonald’s chief marketing officer Gareth Helm said: “We hope the distribution of World Book Day tokens on our Happy Meal boxes will encourage even more families to Share a Story and celebrate the magic of reading together.”

The tokens will be available with Happy Meals from Wednesday, February 5 to Tuesday, March 17.

"This partnership will help World Book Day to encourage all children to discover the joy of books and reading for pleasure," Cassie Chadderton adds.

While Gareth Helm adds: "We hope the distribution of World Book Day tokens on our Happy Meal boxes will encourage even more families to Share a Story and celebrate the magic of reading together.”
