McDonald’s is bringing out a Galaxy salted caramel McFlurry next week

In anticipation of all the advent calendars and boxes of Celebrations we're about to tuck into this winter, McDonald's has just announced that it's bringing out a Galaxy salted caramel McFlurry.

Hitting stores as soon as Wednesday next week (25th September), the indulgent ice cream combines pieces of creamy Galaxy chocolate with a swirl of caramel sauce, all mixed into the brand's statement soft serve.

Setting you back 99p for a mini and £1.39 for the regular size, sadly, there is one downside to the news: it will only be limited edition.

Chocolate-loving McDonald's fans will be able to get their hands on the treat for just eight weeks, no doubt ending as a new festive flavour arrives in November...

And it's not just a new McFlurry flavour that's about to get fans of the fast food chain excited, with the new Galaxy salted caramel McFlurry also marking the start of the restaurant chain's new sustainable packing.

Rolling out across the UK and Ireland, the new McFlurry pots will remove over 300 tonnes of plastic from the business, swapping out the plastic lid for a cardboard alternative.

There's new paper-based packaging too (McDonald's)

However, the statement McFlurry spoon still remains for now, having been expertly designed to effectively whip the soft serve ice cream, although McDonald's has announced that it will begin trials later this year on a more sustainable spoon for the delicious desserts. And who can blame them after paper staw gate...

McDonald's McFlurries have been sold in the UK for 19 years, with Smarties and Malteasers currently the two permanent ice creams on offer, after they replaced long-standing Crunchie and Dairy Milk earlier this year.
