McDonald's is bringing breakfast back to more restaurants today - but not at these branches

It's been two weeks since McDonald's began serving up breakfast again to customers after months of it being off the menu.

Those eager for a much-loved McMuffin may have been left disappointed as only 42 of its branches were among those adding it to its already limited meny.

But there is some good news for Maccies fans as the chain will be adding the breakfast items to more than 1,250 branches from today (Wednesday).

Add that to those that were trialled in June, it means that 1,301 McDonald's will finally be open for breakfast.

But sadly, there will be 120 McDonald's not serving breakfast today as 92 restaurants still remain closed on top of the 28 not ready to offer breakfast items to customers just yet.

In a previous statement to customers, chief executive officer for McDonald's UK and Ireland, Paul Pomroy, said: "As with our main menu, we will have a limited menu at breakfast but we’ve kept the classics – hash browns, McMuffins and pancakes - all return.

"Unfortunately, whilst adhering to social distancing guidelines, we are unable to serve porridge, bagels and our Breakfast Wrap.

"This is because we have fewer people in the kitchen."

The following 28 restaurants will NOT be serving breakfast from today:

  • Mahon Point
