McDonald’s is bringing back an old favourite – but only for seven weeks

McDonald's fans have never had it so good - or maybe they did 13 years ago when this classic burger last made an appearance on the menu.

The fast food giant has announced the return of the Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese - last served up at outlets in 2006.

It's imminent arrival capped off an exciting week for McDonald's, announcing the launch of Spicy Chicken McNuggets  and then revealing they were bringing back two famous McFlurries.

The double quarter pounder with cheese's demise had left customers no option but to use the secret menu paying more and adding the cheese themselves.

The burger will now cost £4.29 or £5.79 as part of a medium meal, reports the Daily Star.

It will include two 100% British and Irish beef burgers with cheese, tomato ketchup, mustard, slivered onions and pickles in a sesame seeded bun.

Sadly, McDonald's is only treating consumers to the returning classic for seven weeks - so you'll have to head down to your nearest Maccies as soon as you can.

In other McDonald’s news, the  fast-food chain has added a ‘To Go’ service to its belt.

The mini outlets are for people in a rush and will provide a limited menu for those that want to grab-and-go.

The first of its kind opened on Fleet Street in London and the focus on takeaways means there is no more in-store seating.
