McDonald's infuriates fans with latest change to its menu

McDonald's has left some customers furious after its latest update to the menu.

The fast food chain has removed a popular item - leaving some fans with little options to choose from.

Angry customers took to Twitter to ask the chain why it had removed Veggie Dippers from the menu.

One person said: "@McDonaldsUK can I ask when you are going to cater for vegetarians again! You seem to have a massive range for all meat eaters but continue to discontinue anything that vegetarians can eat! First the veggie burger and sticks and now the mozzarella dippers!"

Another tweeted: "@McDonaldsUK I’ve been to 2 different restaurants this week and there hasn’t been any veggie options at either, do you expect me to have fries and fruit bag as a full meal now?"

"Right I’m fuming McDonald’s have taken all veggie options off the menu and they were rubbish anyway just the veggie dippers relabelled to be a burger or wrap when shoved in bread. Make a meat substitute like your competitors. Put some effort in or are you scared @McDonaldsUK," said another angry customer.

McDonald's has temporarily axed Veggie Dippers (McDonald's)

Another said: "Honestly think it’s so tragic that there’s no longer any veggie options @McDonaldsUK."

"Ok so who ate all the veggie dippers in the UK, just been told no veggie anything anymore....." tweeted another fan.

And another asked: "Why have your veggie options suddenly dropped from your menus?! How can you add double quarter pounder and triple cheese burger but think it’s a great idea to drop all veggie options which were more than limited in the first place? Please advise."

McDonald's tweeted to respond to the complaints, saying: "Hi, we have removed Veggie Dippers/Selects/Deluxe products temporarily. However we will return these products to the menu as soon as we can."

A spokesperson told Manchester Evening News : "Due to an issue whereby some of our Veggie Dippers have not met the high standards that we expect from our products, we have temporarily removed these from our menu.

"We are working hard to return our Dippers to the menu as quickly as possible, and apologise to our customers for any disappointment caused."
