McDonald's hopes to reopen all drive-through outlets in UK and Ireland by early June

McDonald's is set to reopen all of its drive-through outlets in the UK and Ireland by early June.

The move comes as the government released new coronavirus guidance encouraging people to return to work if safe.

The fast food chain said customers should expect service to be slower due to safety precautions.

McDonald's also warned customers that service "will not be as quick as you might be used to".

Burger King UK, meanwhile, has been reopening its outlets in phases since April 16, and says it will have reopened 350 restaurants - three-quarters of its outlets - by the end of June.
