McDonald's Grangemouth staff members test positive for Covid as restaurant reduces operating hours

A number of staff at McDonalds in Grangemouth have tested positive for Covid.

Eight staff members have tested positive for coronavirus at the fast-food eatery.

It means staff numbers have been scaled back which is having an impact of the 24 hour kitchen at Earl’s Gate.

You can now only order a meal between 6am and 11pm daily.

Bosses say they hope to have operations back to normal by Wednesday September, 1.

A McDonalds spokesperson said: "Eight employees from our Grangemouth restaurant have tested positive for COVID-19 and are self-isolating.

"As soon as we were informed, the restaurant was given an enhanced clean as a precaution. We have contacted all restaurant employees, as well as Public Health Scotland.

"We have a number of safety measures in place to help keep our people safe, including perspex screens, temperature checks at the start of each shift, maintaining a two metre distance from others as much as possible, face coverings, regular hand washing and the use of hand sanitiser."
