McDonald’s fires worker who threw water over homeless man in prank

A Detroit McDonald’s worker who pranked a homeless man by throwing water in his face after promising him a meal has been fired.

Video emerged earlier this week showing a McDonalds employee calling over a homeless man known only as Willie, saying he will give him a sandwich. Initially, Willie refuses but after being shown the food packaging, he moves towards the window where the drive-thru employee was standing.

The worker then pulls back the sandwich and throws a cup of water over the homeless man.

Franchise owner Wise Finley said in a statement: "I am very disturbed by the inappropriate behaviour of this employee."

"This type of behaviour is not tolerated in my organisation. I expect my employees to treat everyone with dignity and respect, and this was unacceptable.

“This individual no longer works for my organisation."
