McDonald's finally addresses limited menu as restaurants re-open in Wales

McDonald's has announced its reopening restaurants for dine-in after months of operating only on takeaway, drive-thru and McDelivery services.

It comes after the Welsh Government announced cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants will be allowed to open indoors again from Monday, May 17. Businesses will have to provide table service and the rule of six is still in place.

In line with this, McDonald's will be reopening its restaurants for dine in with new rules. These include table service only, limited seating to accommodate social distancing and all customers will be asked to wear a face mask when entering the restaurant, unless they are exempt. You can read the McDonald's statement and list of measures in full here.

While the restaurants prepare to welcome customers back for dine-in, McDonald's has said it will turn its attention to its reduced opening hours and limited menu.

The fast-food chain has been operating on a limited menu since it re-opened after the first lockdown in 2020.

However, with reopening plans in place the restaurant has said it will look at the next phase of a return to the full McDonald's experience.

This would mean expanding the menu as well as extending opening hours, both of which are on the agenda for the coming months.

Among the items missed the most by McDonald's fans are breakfast bagels and wraps.
