McDonald's fans will notice a big menu change this week - and it's good news

When McDonald's started to serve customers again after being shut for lockdown, it was operating on a limited menu to ensure safety in its kitchens.

Popular items like milkshakes, the Chicken Legend and breakfast were removed - leaving fans missing their favourite things.

Most of these items have since been re-added to the menu, but one menu mainstay has remained unavailable.

Up until now, fans of McDonald's wraps have been unable to get their hands on one, and have been forced to chow down on alternatives instead.

But after several wrap-less months, McDonald's customers will be able to order them once again from tomorrow (Wednesday 28 July), as they are being re-added to the menu. Hurrah.

Alongside the return of the two wraps, the restaurant company is also bringing back side salads, increasing the options available to customers with every meal.

Michelle Graham-Clare, Vice President Food and Marketing, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: "Over the last few weeks, we’ve been testing which menu items we can reintroduce whilst enabling our restaurant teams to work safely. We’ve heard loud and clear on social media that customers are missing the Big Flavour Wraps range, so we’re delighted to be bringing back the two most popular flavours this week, alongside our side salad.

Face mask rules for coffee shops and food takeaways confirmed

"The Wrap of the Day promotion offers customers a great tasting lunch at an even better price, and with the Government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, this offer gets even tastier."

The announcement comes ahead of the start the Government’s Eat Out To Help Out campaign, offering customers 50% of their food and drink bill, up to £10 per person, when dining in restaurants across the UK on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-31 August.

As the nation slowly begins to return to the office from Monday 3 August, social distancing restrictions in offices will mean there will be limited use of kitchens, so lunchtime will be strictly OOO.

With the return of Wraps to the menu and the Eat Out To Help Out campaign, customers will now be able to get the Wrap of the Day deal for £1 when dining in restaurants Monday-Wednesday in August.
