McDonald's fans in Falkirk left 'furious' as chicken shortage means reduced menu at restaurants

A chicken shortage has hit McDonald's restaurants across the UK and it's leaving fast food lovers furious.

It means menus have had to be reduced, with the likes of the Chicken Deluxe and the extremely popular Chicken Selects, no longer available.

It's understood they have been off the menu since Monday.

A source told Falkirk Live : "All of our restaurants in the Falkirk area are affected by this - Grangemouth, Falkirk and Camelon.

"We've had people going mad at us because they can't order their favourites.

"A few people have actually walked out in a rage, just because they can't get a Chicken Select meal, it's crazy.

"We've been told that everything should be back to normal by the end of this week, so that will surely put a smile on some faces."

The reason for the shortage isn't known.

A McDonald’s spokesperson: "Unfortunately we have a temporary shortage of Chicken Selects and our restaurants may run out this week. We are working incredibly hard to get this popular menu item back on sale in our restaurants.

"We know some customers will be disappointed to hear this news, and we would like to apologise for the short term inconvenience."
