It would seem many McDonald's fans have spoken, and are calling on the fast-food franchise to bring back a once popular savoury treat - Snack Wraps. It comes as the official Facebook account for McDonald's recently uploaded an advert for two new green tea iced drinks - although it appears these can only be purchased in certain countries - excluding the UK.
While several fans were annoyed at this, as others thanked the chain for introducing the 'delicious' drinks to their location, masses of people were more focused on something else entirely. In the caption of the advert for the cold beverages, McDonald's wrote: "The long-awaited McCafé Ice Blended Green Tea is back once again!
"Come and indulge in quality zen time with friends today." However, plenty of commenters chose to ignore the ad and instead demanded for the return of Snack Wraps.
Sierra Vasquez replied: "I dont care, I just want snack wraps." Melanie Sullivan urged: "Please bring back the wraps! Loved the chicken wrap!" Deanna Lynne shouted: "JUST BRING BACK THE SNACK WRAPS!!!!!"
KeiOnna McCullough exclaimed: "We want the snack wrap listen to your customers." Arika Ketchum admitted: "The snack wrap comments are killing me rn, but for real BRING THEM BACK."
Kylie Rohrbaugh demanded: "All we’ve ever wanted was the snack wraps!!! Cmon now!!!" Oliver McDowell echoed: "As almost all the other commenters have said BRING BACK THE MFING SNACK WRAPS I want my late night munchies back."
Tony Reed confessed: "Ive never had a snack wrap, but McDonald’s it looks like the people want them back..." Megan Elizabeth typed: "Snack wraps please!!!! Everyone wants them back so come on McDonalds!!!!"
When McDonald's sold Chicken Snack Wraps in the UK, they consisted of a piece of "crispy coated chicken with spicy mayo, lettuce and cheese, in a warm tortilla wrap". The savoury snack disappeared from the menu during the coronavirus lockdown and has not made its way back since.
Other items that are still unavailable to order following the country's lockdown include Bagels, the Breakfast Wrap and Grilled Chicken. In 2021, a McDonald's spokesperson said: "When we began reopening our restaurants in May last year, we did so with a reduced menu to facilitate the safety measures that were introduced in our kitchens and service areas.
"While we’ve gradually reintroduced more menu items in subsequent months, safety remains our number one priority, meaning a small number of products are yet to return.”
A Twitter account called 'Fight4SnackWrap' has even been created - and is still active to this day - as fans 'fight' for the menu item to come back. There is also a Change.org petition titled: "Bring back McDonald's SNACK WRAPS!", which has been signed more than 18,000 times.
Started by Victoria Thomas back in 2020, she writes: "Covid-19 has taken away a lot of things we love due to social distancing, but WHY take our Snack Wraps?!?! McDonald's Snack Wraps are easily the best thing on their menu (maybe next to their fries, but that's a whole different debate).

"Honestly, the longer Covid goes on, the more "bring back Snack Wraps" posts I have seen... SO WHY NOT BRING THEM BACK? I understand that due to Covid most locations don't have the proper chicken, but honestly, I WOULD TAKE CHICKEN NUGGETS IN A SNACK WRAP RIGHT ABOUT NOW... okay, let's not get that dramatic, how about crispy buttermilk chicken cut in half?? srsly."
