McDonald's fans demand favourite menu item is brought back

McDonald's fans believe the fast food chain should bring back one of its popular menu items.

Back in October 2018, McDonald's left customers "raging" after it removed both its strawberry and caramel ice cream sundaes from its menu.

At the time, the chain said the reason for the item being removed was due to the fact "they weren't very popular" as well as stating the government's recommendations regarding sugar also played a part.

Following the news, customers took to Twitter to share their disappointment. And, now almost two years later, fans are demanding its sundaes make a return.

User @emmayoungxx said: "Bring back the caramel sundaes from McDonalds they were honestly class"

Since sharing the tweet it has gained more then 2,000 retweets and more than 20,000 likes.

Among the replies to the tweet, one user said: "Best thing on the dessert menu in McDonald's"

Another said: "Omg they were elite."

A third added: "@McDonalds feedback is just do it!! Give the fans what they want."

And a fourth said: "Deserves a petition".

However, sadly for fans hoping to see sundaes return, McDonald's has dashed hopes of this.

Replying to the tweet, McDonald's official account said: "Hi Emma, here at McDonald's, we are always interested in customer suggestions and feedback.

"At the moment we don't have any plans to bring back the Toffee Sundae, however I will pass your feedback on to the team."
