McDonald's fans can get a Big Mac and fries for £1.99 every time thanks to receipt hack

McDonald’s fans can get a Big Mac and fries for just £1.99 thanks to a clever discount hack - because who doesn’t love a food deal?

A medium Big Mac meal usually comes to £4.79 - so that’s a saving of £2.80, minus a drink.

All you need to do to get the discounted grub is fill out a survey online, telling Maccies what you thought about your last meal.

You’ll first need to buy something from McDonald’s and keep your receipt. It will contain a 12 digit code that you'll need to enter on McDonald's Food for Thought website.

Once you’ve shared your opinion, you’ll then be given a five digit code.

Write this down on your original receipt and take it to your nearest McDonald’s - hand it over to the cashier and you’ll be able to order your £1.99 Big Mac and fries.

If you don't fancy a Big Mac you can also choose from a Fillet-O-Fish, or Vegetable Deluxe instead, and swap out the fries for a side salad.

There is no minimum you need to spend to get the 12 digit code, so technically you could buy the cheapest thing on the menu.

The cheapest thing you can purchase is a 20p sauce including BBQ, sweet chili or sour cream and chive.

Just keep in mind you’ll only have 60 days from receiving your receipt to do the survey.

But the best part is, there isn’t any cap on how many times you can fill out the Food for Thought website, meaning you can technically get Big Mac and fries for £1.99 every single time.

In more Maccies news, the fast food chain has just brought back its famous Double Big Mac burger for a limited time.

It features four 100% beef patties, a slice of cheese, lettuce, onion and pickles plus the Big Mac sauce.

The Double Big Mac is one of six new items on the menu from Wednesday, October 6 for a six-week run.

Other treats you can currently get your hands on include a Crunchie McFlurry and Nacho Cheese Wedges.

These are all part of the main lunchtime menu, meaning they're available in all McDonald's restaurants from 11am everyday.
