McDonald's fan shares recipe for 'Big Mac sauce' that tastes just like the real thing

A foodie has shared the recipe for how he made the famous McDonald's Big Mac sauce at home.

The cook, known only as u/yungbull94, shared a picture of his whopping recreation on Reddit with the caption: "Wagyu beef Big Macs."

The snap saw two beef patties with cheese slathered with Big Mac sauce, garnished with lettuce and sandwiched between a toasted sesame brioche bun.

The monster burger went down well on the site as more than 5,500 users of the r/food subreddit liked the post, and dozens more asked for the recipe.

One person wrote: "Wait a minute wait wait wait. You made the Big Mac sauce?! Homemade?!?!!" and another asked: "HOW DO YOU MAKE THE SPECIAL SAUCE?"

The poster replied: "I found a copycat recipe online that was dead on.

"I had basically everything I needed to make the sauce so it wasn’t too bad.

"Just had to get relish which my girlfriend convinced me she would use on hot dogs sometime which I’ll believe when I see it."

A number of people who were eager to make the sauce for themselves asked the cook for the exact measurements, to which he revealed: "I used the following which was exactly enough for two burgers.

“1/2 cup mayo, 2 tablespoons French Dressing, 1 heaping tablespoon sweet relish, 3 teaspoons dill pickle juice [the briny liquid in a jar of gherkins], 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon ketchup, a dash of salt."

Then all that was left to do was to assemble the burger and serve it with curly fries.

Reddit users were blown away by the finished result as one person commented: "Unholy. wow," and another person added: "Alright man, imma need an address a time and your favourite beer, cuz I need to be invited to this cookout lol."

Give it a go for yourself and let us know what you thought in the comments.
