McDonald's fan shares menu hack to create dessert that tastes like 'heaven'

When it comes to McDonald's many people love to treat themselves to a McFlurry or an apple pie.

But have you ever thought to combine the two desserts?

This is the genius hack one food fan came up with and he's gone viral on social media as a result.

Adrian Widjy ( @adrianwidjy ) from Sydney, Australia, shared a look at his stuffed apple pie on TikTok, proclaiming it's a "must do hack".

He explains: "McDonald's hack. You MUST do this ASAP!

"Get any ice cream you like, I got an Oreo McFlurry and stuffed it inside the apple pie.

"Just trust me!"

In the clip, Adrian can be seen taking one end off of the apple pie and spooning some of the ice cream inside.

He then takes a bite of the dessert before describing it as "heaven".

"Heaven, seriously! This sound is proof," he says before making a big 'mmmm' sound.

More than 14,000 people have since watched the video, with hundreds liking it.

One person said: "Omg YES!"

Another responded: "YUM I NEED TO TRY."

And this isn't the only McDonald's ice cream hack that's been causing a stir on TikTok of late, though this certainly sounds tastier.

We've also seen people mixing the vanilla ice cream with chilli oil - and we gave it a go for ourselves.

The craze appears to have started in China, where the unusual dessert was briefly sold and has since been picked up in a viral video by Ryan Paturzo, an Australia-based food lover and producer on Buzzfeed's Tasty series.

In his clip Ryan explains: "First order a plain Sundae, then you’re going to top it with chilli oil.

"The blend creates a salty and sweet creamy flavour with crunchy texture."

He goes on to add that even though it seems weird, viewers should trust him as the dessert will take your tastebuds on "a wild adventure".

And he's not wrong... well, not completely anyway.

Having tried the controversial dessert, I agree it's certainly "wild", but it's not something I think I'd ever want to eat again.

The initial mouthful was interesting. It's an explosion of flavour that really does hit your tastebuds hard, starting off as slightly sweet before being quickly overpowered by strong, salty heat.

I had naively hoped the combination of ingredients would cancel each other out, so it wouldn't be terribly hot, but a few spoonfuls in, my lips and the back of my throat were burning.
