By Emma Rosemurgey & Paul Turner

Pretty much everyone loves heading for the McDonald's drive-thru. Whether it's first thing in the morning or last thing at night those golden arches can be a welcome sight.

You can order all your favourites and not even have to move anywhere, perhaps while you have a chat with any mates you have in the car.

But now a worker has spilled the lid on some of the things that actually happen when you head for the drive-thru, and some of them may surprise you. Click here for more stories about McDonald's.

@secretfitzz revealed on TikTok that while you're sat there perhaps not looking your best, the Maccies drive-thru is actually taking a picture of you, and listening in to what you say.

Places to eat near where you live:

"The fact people don't know we can hear your convos even when we aren't speaking to you taking your order," the TikToker said, reports The Mirror.

"And we have a camera at the speaker that takes a picture of you so we know whose order is whose. "Seeing the mugshots of random people makes my day."

Some have been left perturbed at the prospect of their mugshots and secret conversations being readily available to McDonald's employees.

"If this is true, I'm never going again," said one.

Another added: "New fear unlocked: Drive-thrus."

But a third was more sceptical: "How can you hear my convo when you can't hear me screaming into the mic from 5cm away?"
