McDonald's delivery note that came with a little extra surprise

A McDonald's delivery driver attached a touching handwritten note to a woman's food order to brighten up her day.

Donna Booth ordered food from the fast food restaurant in Wallasey, Wirral, on Monday, to be delivered to her home.

The 44-year-old said her husband went to collect the order from their doorstep when he found a note folded on the top of the bag.

The note said: "May positive thoughts and not fear guide you to conquer everything you wish for your future. Stay safe and enjoy your food!"

The message was signed by the delivery driver, Luis Fernando, and a smiley face.

Donna said the note made her smile and prompted her to share what happened on Facebook in the hope that Luis might see it.

Donna told the Liverpool ECHO: "I thought it was such a nice gesture considering he's the one at risk doing what he's doing during Covid-19.

"It was nice to think he'd taken time to write the note in his own time, and it's a shame you can't provide positive feedback about it to his employer.

"I work for customer service and know how nice it is to know you have made someone's day.

"It made me smile, and that's always a good thing when you can put a smile on someone's face."
