McDonald's customers are being pestered by 'cheeky' birds who are stealing their food in the drive thru.
Over the weekend, one resident warned others of what appears to be a young starling bird that was fed on Chalon Way, St Helens - but refused to let their mealtime interaction stop there.
Images seen on social media show the bird sitting on a car bonnet at a set of traffic lights down the road, where it had followed the driver after its feeding encounter at the McDonald's branch.

The post prompted dozens of other people claiming they too have had the well-known bird and others like it perch on their wing mirrors and saying it is a regular occurrence for them to steal food whilst visiting the drive thru.
Posting to Facebook, the original post said *WARNING* Don't feed the birds at McDonald's in town...they follow you home!"
Many people have since shared their tales of the birds at the St Helens branch and said it's often a bit of entertainment when they encounter them.
Rebecca Melia told the ECHO: "I don't go to McDonald's often but they're there asking for a cheeky nibble every time I have been.
"I don't find it a bother, the opposite in fact. My children love seeing them land on the side mirrors and flitter about as if asking for scraps.
"No other McDonald's has birds that fly so close to us, not that I've seen anyway, so we choose that McDonald's sometimes for the birds. Sad maybe but that's the only entertainment we can get these days due to covid.
"We've been naughty and let them take a few scraps from our hands a few times."

Gillian Kenny also posted pictures of the birds online and said if you visit the branch the birds will make contact.
She said: "I think they are babies and have only just started doing it. My lad said it’s funny.
"We put food on our mirror and they took it. It's the first time it's happened to us but if you go there they will do it."

The original post on a local Facebook group received a huge response, with many commenting with their experiences at the branch or their own captured footage of the birds causing a nuisance.
One resident tagged a friend and said: "I think it's the same little friendly bird I've been talking about."
Another person said: "Hahaha they're proper cheeky, take chips from your hand while they're sat on your wing mirror."
One commented: "Haha this made my day."
Another said: "That one if it's the same lives there, it has a house thing at the side where the drive thru is."
Another resident said: "They're cheeky, one sat on my mirror at Maccies. No fear of humans at that age."
One person posted: "They were trying to get in my car so had to close the window. One repaid me by sh**ting in car."
And another posted: "Love this bird."
