McDonald's customers disappointed by sad looking Christmas coffees

You can’t beat a Christmas coffee to warm you up and get you in the festive spirit, but some customers were left disappointed by range this year.

The fast food giant launched its Christmas menu on Wednesday, with festive drinks including a Millionaire’s Latte and and Toffee Latte.

However, reality didn't live up to expectations in some cases as these pictures show, the MEN reports.

Customers shared their disappointment after ordering the drinks only to discover they look very different from the promotional pictures.

The Millionaire’s Latte, which comes in at 198 calories, is made with a caramel biscuit syrup and supposed to be topped a generous helping of chocolate cream.

How the Millionaire's Latte is advertised (McDonald's)

Customer Jay Lacken, from Formby, tweeted his disappointment after ordering the festive drink.

He said: “@McDonalds is this meant to be your Christmas millionaires edition? First of all it's not even full, second it's definitely not the advertised one #McDonalds #mcdonaldsuk,"

Another disgruntled customer added: “"Fuming mate, second Millionaire Latte from @McDonalds WITHOUT cream. No it hadn't melted and no it hadn't stuck to the lid. Day, ruined,".

Customers who ordered the toffee version, which are 183 calories each and topped with cream, were also left disheartened.

One customer tweeted: "What is that!? @McDonalds it’s supposed to be a toffee latte but you seem to have forgotten to put the latte in there!"

Another said: "Just took the lid off of my large toffee latte at @McDonalds ... this is like a visual representation of what adulthood feels like after thinking, as a child, it’ll be all parties and fun with the money you earn but it’s really all bills and debts. Expectation Vs Reality."

A McDonald's spokesperson addressed the complaints and said: "As with any cream on top of a hot drink, if left for a period of time, our swirl of chocolate cream and a caramel drizzle will blend into the latte.

"Most of our customers are loving it too much to leave it that long, but if it does melt then you’ll still get all of the great flavours, just combined with your drink instead of on top."
