McDonald's Covid-19 rules for Edinburgh restaurants and what could change if city moves level

McDonald's have set out the Covid-19 rules currently in-place at their Edinburgh restaurants.

The fast food giant is able to open in the Scottish capital for walk-in, takeaway, drive-thru and table service.

They've set out a handy guide to what customers can expect in each of the Covid-19 protection levels, and as Edinburgh is currently in level three, we've taken a look at the key rules in place in the capital.

McDonalds say people are able to dine-in between 6am and 5pm, with social distancing in place. However the 'rule of six' applies at indoor and outdoor seating, with all food provided by table service.

In West Lothian, where level four is currently being enforced, restaurants can only open for walk-in, takeaway and drive-thru. with no dine-in option or table service.

The rules are also different in level two East Lothian. Restaurants can stay open for longer – from 6am to 7pm – however the rule of six and table service restrictions also apply.

Should any level be able to make it to level one, restaurants will be open between 6am and 10.30pm.

McDonalds say that face coverings must, of course, be worn at all times by those who are not exempt.
