McDonald's Christmas advert upsets viewers who warn 'do not watch'

McDonald's has followed other big brands like John Lewis, Aldi and M&S by releasing its Christmas advert for 2021.

The fast food giant's offering pulled at the heart strings of views, with many left in tears and warning 'do not watch'.

Christmas adverts can leave viewers with a lump in their throat, and this was no exception, with some reaching for the tissues.

Pop star Mabel covers Cyndi Lauper’s hit ‘Time After Time’ in the ad, and is giving 10p from every download to food charity FareShare. Lovely.

But many viewers have been left upset by the advert, and claim the 'emotional rollercoaster' has turned them into an absolute MESS, reports MEN.

"Erm excuse me McDonald's, was there any need for that emotional rollercoaster of an advert on a Saturday morning?!" wrote one person.

Another said: "In absolute floods over a McDonald’s advert. Send help."

"I have a definite lump in my throat. Do not watch the McDonald's Christmas advert made me blub," said a third viewer.

A fourth added: "Just cried at the McDonald's Xmas advert. How's your morning going?"

"Omg just cried my eyes out at the McDonald’s Christmas advert," said yet another moved individual.

"Not me fully sobbing at the McDonald's Christmas advert... no I am not okay mentally," said somebody else.

Others, however, reckon it's the 'best Xmas advert this year'.
