McDonald’s has announced that two of its most popular items are back on the menu from today.
The fast-food chain confirmed the long-awaited arrival of its Crispy Sweet Chilli Chicken and Crispy BBQ & Bacon Wraps from 29 July.
Customers will also be able to get one flavour of the wraps for £1.99 every day of the week, as the McDonald’s Wrap of the Day deal also returns.
The announcement comes ahead of the start the government’s Eat Out To Help Out scheme, which will offer customers 50 per cent off their food and drink bill, up to £10 per person, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3-31 August.
A McDonald's spokesperson confirmed that the restaurant will be participating in the scheme.
This means that, when combined with the Wrap of the Day deal, customers will be able to purchase a wrap for just £1 when dining in McDonald's restaurants Monday to Wednesday throughout August.
“Over the last few weeks, we’ve been testing which menu items we can reintroduce whilst enabling our restaurant teams to work safely,” said Michelle Graham-Clare, vice president of food and marketing at McDonald’s.
“We’ve heard loud and clear on social media that customers are missing the Big Flavour Wraps range, so we’re delighted to be bringing back the two most popular flavours this week, alongside our side salad.”
She continued: “The Wrap of the Day promotion offers customers a great tasting lunch at an even better price, and with the government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme, this offer gets even tastier.”
Alongside the return of the two wraps, McDonald’s is also bringing back side salads, which customers can choose to accompany their meal instead of fries.
From 27 July, 144 more restaurants in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland have opened for dine in, with the rest set to open in time for the launch of the Eat Out To Help Out campaign.
