McDonald's breakfast update as the fast-food chain explains when it will return

McDonald's reopened its restaurants for either drive thru or McDelivery last week.

The fast-food chain's highly-anticipated return, after closing nationwide in March due to the coronavirus crisis, saw many flocking to restaurants.

McDonald's is currently not serving breakfast, instead offering customers a reduced menu to implement social distancing measures in kitchens.

In its latest letter to customers, however, McDonald's shared an update on when it would be serving breakfast again.

Is McDonald's serving breakfast?

Currently, no.

Reduced restaurant opening times are between 11am and 10pm.

That's after the usual McDonald's breakfast hours which are normally between 6am and 11am.

When will McDonald's do breakfast again?

In his latest update to customers, McDonald's UK & Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy said breakfast trials will start within a few weeks.

Speaking to customers, he said: "We are working hard behind the scenes to open for longer and offer more services.

"I hope that within a few weeks we will be able to start trialling breakfast service."

He added: "Please continue to bear with us.

"Employee safety remains my top priority and we will only move forward with new services and menu items when we're confident we can do so whilst still enabling a safe working environment."
