McDonald's boss reveals what will be on the breakfast menu when it returns

Over the weekend, McDonald's confirmed the news we've all been waiting for - breakfast is finally making a comeback.

It's been a difficult few months without the option to grab a McMuffin and a hashbrown on a hungover Saturday morning, but somehow, we've all soldiered through. If that's not strength, I don't know what is.

Anyway, the wait is finally over, as McDonald's is bringing back its breakfast menu.

Paul Pomroy, McDonald’s UK and Ireland CEO, has said McDonald's is planning to trial its breakfast service "within a few weeks" and it should be available for delivery via delivery apps Uber Eats and Just Eat when the chain introduces the delivery option into hundreds of its restaurants.

He said: "Next week we will switch McDelivery back on in over 500 restaurants with the help of our delivery partners Uber Eats and Just Eat.

"As with our drive-thru operations, it might take a little longer. We expect demand to once again be high and both of these factors might impact service times.

"But I know you'll continue to show the patience we've seen all week and I thank you again for your understanding.

"I hope that within a few weeks we will be able to start trialling breakfast service."

McDonald's is yet to give a specific date for the big breakfast return.

Mr Pomroy also previously hinted that shoppers can expect to see McMuffins returning at some point. YAY.

He told customers: "Over the coming months, we will explore how to extend the menu, increase our opening hours and reintroduce those much-missed McMuffins at breakfast."

It's not yet been revealed whether we can expect to see other favourites like hash browns and pancakes back on the menu, but we'll be sure to update you as and when we know.
