McDonald's are giving out free cheeseburgers to everyone - here's how to get yours

Summer might be over, but that doesn't mean all the fun is too. As McDonald's has just announced that it's handing out free cheeseburgers to anyone that wants one.

In one of the best freebie food deals we've spotted all year, it's very easy to claim.

All you'll need to do is download the McDonald's app for the first time, or sign up with a different email address to create a new account, and you'll see the offer appear on your dashboard.

You'll then need to take a trip to your nearest McDonald's, select the free cheeseburger offer, and go collect it.

Usually 99p, the offer was originally spotted by bargain hunters on deals forum Hot UK Deals , with some users suggesting that if the deal doesn't load for you, simply click on the £1.49 wrap one instead, as if you’re going to order. Come back out of it, and it refreshes - and hallelujah! Free cheeseburger.

The offer is available up until the 30th September, with the McDonald's app is available on both Google Play and the App store .

A classic choice whether you're getting it as a snack or with chips for a full meal, the burger contains one tasty 100% beef patty alongside cheese, onions, pickles, mustard and a dollop of tomato ketchup, all wrapped together in a soft bun.

Only one cheeseburger is allowed per customer, redeemable only via orders placed on the My McDonald’s App.

The app then recognises when you’re within 100m of the restaurant and sends your order to the kitchen so you can beat the queues and grab and go without any waiting around.

This is exactly the technological advancement we've been waiting for...
