McDonald's announces new rules including an order cap as it reopens restaurants

McDonald's is reopening this week for delivery only.

After closing its doors in March due to the coronavirus crisis, McDonald's is opening 15 restaurants for delivery only tomorrow.

Then from next week McDonald's will reopen a further 30 branches for Drive Thru in line with government guidelines, with plans to reopen all their Drive Thrus by early June.

However, as the fast-food chain prepares to make a comeback it is also putting new rules in place, including an order cap.

Customers at the restaurant will only be able to spend £25 and the same will apply per car when the Drive Thrus reopen.

McDonald's is also asking people to pay by contactless payment methods wherever possible.

The two new guidelines join the list of safety and wellbeing measures restaurants have already introduced.

These include fewer people in the kitchen and service areas, serving a reduced menu over reduced hours.

McDonald's will also use perspex screens in kitchen and service areas.

As well as protective equipment for staff.

McDonald's is also running a limited menu which can be found on their websites.

The restaurant has also confirmed it will keep the restaurant locator on its website updated as Drive Thrus reopen over the coming weeks.
