McDonald's announce reopening of Glasgow drive-thrus

McDonald's have reopened in Glasgow with seven separate city drive-thrus welcoming customers once more.

The restaurants will begin trading at 11am this morning, having been closed since the outbreak of coronavirus back in March.

The fast food chain announced they will reopen over 900  drive-thrus across the UK after a trial run involving a small number of venues in England.

The restaurants will be open from 11am - 10pm, while a £25 spending limit will be in place.

McDonald's confirmed: "Following a successful pilot, we can confirm 924 Drive-Thru restaurants will reopen between June 2 and June 4. We will also add 75 restaurants to McDelivery via either UberEats or Just Eat.

"In order to allow for social distancing, we will have fewer employees in our kitchens and service areas.

"To help our smaller teams, we will be offering a limited menu (no breakfast, wraps or shakes), over reduced hours (11am - 10pm).

"We continue to ask that you limit your spend to £25 and use contactless payment methods wherever possible.

"Our teams are adjusting to new safety and hygiene procedures, which will help them to work safely and social distance; we appreciate your continued patience."
